Yeah, I know. The only way to get my fingers to sit on the strings correctly is to practice. I just never, ever had that problem with a bass. Not from the first time I picked one up. The only problem I had occasionally was that stupid buzz that came from not holding the strings down hard enough, and I got over that quickly.
