October already?
Oct. 12th, 2007 03:03 pmMom called while I went to get lunch. She's still in Brooklyn. THANK GOD. I'm not used to the weather being so cold now, and I (foolishly) left this morning wearing a t-shirt and a thin zip-up hoodie. I'm cold. I'm sitting at my desk, and I'm cold. I go outside, and I'm cold. If I had to sit on the bus or the train for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, I'd be FREEZING. I had my jacket this morning, too, but I put it back because I didn't think I'd need it. Ha!
(For the record, YES, 60-something is cold. I'm sensitive to coolness. Craig would laugh at this weather and will probably laugh at me. Then again, Craig's been in PA full-time for three years.)
Someone apparently took the master key for this floor out of my desk. It's been missing since yesterday morning. I got to my desk, and boom, no key. I suspect (and hope) the new ombudsman, Anne, took it, since it opens her office. (AKA the old interview room that I REALLY wish they hadn't invaded for the purpose of putting HER there. She's bothering me about her mail. Someone was supposed to have sent her something and it hasn't gotten here. She keeps nagging me about it. I do not work for any mail carrier. I bring down the mail that's there. I cannot bring you something that does not yet exist, thank you.) If she doesn't have it, I'll probably end up having to take Kwesi's key (assuming he has one--Dona seems to think he does) and copy it. I'll make a few copies, give one to Cheresse and one to Dona.
I know I don't have the thing. For a little bit, I thought I might have taken it home accidentally, but I remember reaching into my pocket and realizing it was still in there, and purposely holding it in my hand on my way back to my desk. I put it in the drawer on its hook. No key now. And whoever took it either isn't in (because I e-mailed everyone) or they're not fessing up. Anne's not here, though, so here's hoping.
