UNDEADjournal?
Oct. 29th, 2008 12:54 pmMwahaha, I like, LJ. I like.
Anyway. Did I mention my godmother (getting her Master's in nursing, I believe so she can teach) said that nursing careers are the way to go? Well, she did, so I'm looking into it. I can get an Associate's and work up from there. I'm a little wary of the whole needle and blood thing, but I imagine I'd be able to get used to it. And I'd have to go to BMCC down here instead of going to LaGuardia, because if I go to LaG, I'll be too tempted to jump over to Veterinary Technology. XD; BMCC is within walking distance of my job, anyway. LaG's going out of my way. I just keep looking at LaG because it has so many things I'm interested in (fine arts and vet tech being the big ones).
As for a specialty, at least right now, I'm looking at pediatric oncology--caring for kids/teens/young adults with cancer. That spoke to me as soon as I read about it. I think I'd want to do something with kids anyway, even though the whole reason for the nursing boom is the growth of the elderly population. I like kids, and kids like me.
Nick later, kitties tonight. Let's see which cat gets my lap first and if Nevada ends up trying to climb onto my shoulders again. XD I get to go there tomorrow night, too, since I said I'd cover upstairs. Might go home first, in the hope that Mom will said, "I'll come with you," when I go back out.
No, I'm absolutely not going to give up on this. I'm not going to argue over it, but I'm not going to be subtle, either.
THIS is the stubbornness that's always associated with Taureans. ^^; I feel a bit childish sometimes, but 80% of me is like "Screw it, I want a cat." And I don't want someone else running off with Nevada! ^^;;
I can't wait to get out of here, bleh. Dying. At least I have money again.
