Jan. 31st, 2011 12:20 amI spent most of today doing things OTHER than painting. XD; Walked the dog, took a nap, ordered Chinese, downloaded and played a round of BIT.TRIP CORE, and spent a good amount of time listening to Kirby remixes with Craig on Youtube. Walked the dog again, then walked Craig to Gamestop and RadioShack, and THEN decided I should at least work on the painting a bit, even though my light source (aka, the sun) was gone. Portrait's still irking me, but I'll work on it. I need to work on the shirt. Everything else is smoother than the shirt. I'm not sure if I want to mess with it too much. Naturally haven't done the background yet. Actually might not even bother; I ended up painting a bust instead of a (nearly) full-body portrait, so adding the background might make it look odd.
Also, I need canvas. I have to stop being lazy and go to Blick already. XD;;
Have decided that I will apply to MICA, which is a long-shot school, but it doesn't hurt to try. Also got some other recommendations from Prof. Segre for Tyler School of Art and Virginia Commonwealth University. I knew about VCU, but I hadn't really looked at Tyler. Both are supposed to have great programs. Going to look into them a bit more before I decide what I want to do. Tyler requires applicants to do a self-portrait on 8.5x11 paper in a dry medium.
Still need to do that autobiography for Smith. -_- I'll start working on it tomorrow.
