Mar. 15th, 2011 09:28 pmOne of my classmates in Astronomy is a stubborn idiot. -_- There was a question on the lab worksheet that asked for the angle the sun (or was it moon?) was above the horizon, expressed as a fraction. It gave us the angle, 30 degrees. There were five of us working on the lab, and four of us said 1/3, as in 30/90 (90 being straight up). The explanations two pages prior even SAID 30 degrees above the horizon is 1/3, and 45 degrees is 1/2. HE said it should be 30/180 (saying that you have to look at the entire sky), therefore 1/6. I tried to explain to him, several times, that 90 is the sun/moon at its highest point, and after 90, it decreases. We weren't trying to find where it was along the horizon, the question asked above the horizon. Like... ARGH. I know I said I'm bad at math, and I am, but I'm not stupid. So anyway, everyone put 1/3 but him, so whatever.
Have to do my assignment for Fiction. Tomorrow's the first day of club meetings. All the clubs meet at the same time, damnit. I'm going to Creative Writing instead of Art, because I want to see what they're all about and Prof. Alexander really wants me to come. I'm suffering from a killer writer's block, which is my problem... if I can't get this thing written, I'm not going to any meetings tomorrow.
I have a monstrous headache. Time to eat.
