Apr. 24th, 2011 08:12 amTurns out the original laptop battery's not doing badly. I'm going to keep the new one as a backup. Next time I come up, I'll bring the old charger; I can't remember now if the charger wasn't working or if the light WAS coming on but it wasn't charging the battery or powering the laptop because of that stupid switch. It's possible I've replaced things that didn't need replacing. Whatever, backups are good.
Homeward bound today! Pretty glad about that, actually. It's warmer now, and the bugs are exploring. You know what's not amusing? Nearly getting an ant in your hair because it fell off the ceiling light while you were sitting on the toilet. It just barely missed me. Like, I shot up off the seat and it landed where I was. Hell no. And it's not like I could've just ran a comb through my hair and gotten it out. No combing this stuff. XD;;
Did I mention I got cold feet regarding MICA? I sent in my tuition and housing deposits, along with my declaration of intent, when we left on Wednesday. Then Mom got my financial aid package and faxed me the details. First, the MICA Grant? I was really expecting more than $500 for the year. SCAD and MIAD gave me more money. I think I ended up with like $26,000 (AKA, tuition) or something from MIAD versus $21,500 (not even) from MICA. Anyway, long story short, I stopped payment on both the checks and called MICA requesting them to ignore the checks and maybe send the envelope back to me. XD; I told them I'd like a little more time to consider the HUGE FINANCIAL BURDEN I'd have to take on. Don't know if they called me. I left the PA number on the undergrad admission rep's voicemail, but she didn't call back, so nyeh.
