meitantei_cj... I have to say, I completely agree with Mario Cuomo. Hil and Bam should finish the fight and whoever loses should agree to be vice president. I got pissed off at Obama for refusing to accept vice presidency if he loses. It sounded like an ego trip. And if he (or she) becomes vice president, wouldn't that be sixteen years in office if people keep voting for their team? (Mind you, that's a big if, but just supposing...) Considering a lot of people still don't think he has the experience he needs to run the country, wouldn't being next in line give him that experience? Why the hell wouldn't he want that?
But this is why I don't get into politics. This year's different because it's first black man, first woman. It's hard for me NOT to keep track of it, being a black woman. I'm just annoyed as hell about it. I honestly can't wait for the primaries to be over with so we'll have a clear winner and THAT person will go up against McCain. I'm tired of all this preliminary stuff.
Anyway, non-political talk now.
I have a headache, but I just took Ibuprofen about two hours ago, so I don't want to take more. Neck hurts, eyes hurt. Want to lay down. -_-
Talked to Dad. Rent's going up more than they said it was--the $190 was a mistake. We're paying $900-something now; it's going up to (including the parking space they've been trying to get Mom and anyone with out-of-state license plates out of, which is total discrimination) about $1200-1300. Job quitting is absolutely impossible at this point. (Fuck you, Lindsay Park.) All I can do now is look for something else. Finding something else I'll actually like will be nigh impossible without school, which means it'll just end up being another salary. I can't switch to part-time because Mom can't afford it. The $900 was one thing. Near $1300 is another entirely. I HAVE to take classes online or at night. It looks like I'm going to end up taking general education classes online and other things at night, or something like that. Most online degree programs I've seen have to do with business and management, and I want no part of that. I'm not shelling out money to get something I don't want.
Meanwhile, I have to start looking for another job, probably closer to PA, in case Paterson signs the thing letting transit workers retire at age 50 instead of 55. The earliest person can't actually retire for a year, but I can't let it wait. And Mom said she'd stick around even if Paterson DID sign it, but with things costing what they do here, she'd be stupid to do that, and I think she'd figure that out.
