The management in this building sucks. I've always believed that, but this just etches it in stone.
A pipe burst in the basement sometime this morning, and as a result, the water's been shut off. There's no water in a 25-story building. Every single one of those floors is occupied by a business. What does building management tell us? Go across the street to 75 Maiden Lane or down the block to 90 Maiden Lane if we want to go to the bathroom. Meanwhile, we've got a health hazard here. You can't even wash your hands.
Dona and Maureen called several people they know, and all of them said we should've been sent home. One of them is a building inspector. So anyway, I just contacted the CSEA representative (also down the block) for OCFS and left a message for him, and hopefully he'll get back to me soon.
It's just stupid. And what if it's not fixed by tomorrow? We're supposed to come in to a building with no water?
Seriously, we need to be in a state-owned building. We never had issues when I worked at Tax. I mean never. The worst thing we had was a lack of hot water in one of the bathrooms, if that.
