Work was fine today. Joan didn't come in. Even Tas was surprised. And she had nothing for me to do (she had nothing to do herself), so I spent the entire day designing a character. (Not done yet, either... but I think she looks good so far, and Charles came over and agreed with me, so happy happy.) And the candy has been sold. Finally. The long nightmare is over. [/Arthur Dent]
So. Tomorrow is that ridiculous class. Not looking forward to it... The air conditioning's broken in our building--has been since yesterday, apparently--and as a result, it's hot to the point that I'm constantly yawning and yearning for my bed, or at least a desk and some sort of cushion. Couple that with a full-day class on subject matter that will bore the hell out of me, and there's trouble. I've had two classes at work that I liked. Both times, the teachers joked and laughed and were very laid-back. The subject matter was work-related, but it was more behavioral stuff. The first was about "total quality" and getting the most out of your experience working with Tax, the second was about... workplace aggression, I think. That was most of it. Neither time did I die of boredom.
The only good thing about it is that I won't be answering any phones or picking up any faxes or copying anything. Tempted to leave an hour early tomorrow, right after the class lets out. Don't know yet. And I guess I'll be good on Thursday and drag myself to work.
They've extended the filing for court officer. I'm going to apply this time. Mom's right when she says I should be on as many lists as possible. If I don't want the job whenever they get around to calling me, I can turn it down, like I'm fairly certain I'm going to turn down the conductor job with Transit whenever they call me. And I don't necessarily have to be in the courtroom (which is where I don't want to be). And I'd be making $10,000 more than I'm making now, to start.
So yeah. Keep moving.

Jun. 28th, 2005 08:20 pmYou know what? 2 is most definitely awesome. Language (and lots of it), so listen quietly if you have to. This one isn't bleeped like the last one I posted.
About the military and kid violence. And I said it was the news. Video games my ass.
Have listened to a few rants of his. This one is good too (and I agree with a lot of the points he makes, like the whole "my god is the oldest" thing), but if you're like my coworker and so deadset in your ways that someone saying the slightest thing about Christianity will insult you and make you shove the Good Book in my face (so to speak), then you'd better not listen. Of course, it's not anti-Christianity, it's anti-Bible-thumper... and anything he brings up has a point to it. But, as with all comedy and ranting, it may (and probably will) offend.
Now, I want cookies. Think I'll go bake a few.
And Bush, get the HELL off my TV. Last chimpanzee-looking mug I want to see is yours.

Yeah, Canada?
Jun. 28th, 2005 09:53 pmI already knew I loved you when we took that cruise years ago, but oh MAN, do I love you.
EDIT: ... You know something, I really need to stop watching the news. Screw current events. They suck as of late. Someone needs to sent the Bush twins to Iraq for a year. See if Bush doesn't pull a timetable for pulling the soldiers out of the country then. And some guy beat a gay guy into a coma because the gay guy looked at him. 9_9
And do you have any idea how annoying it is to be too shy to IM someone? ^^;;
