Icon. See icon? That was me. All day. Just OMGWTFTOOMUCHWORKSTRIKEMEWITHLIGHTNINGNOWO___O!!!!
I'm exhausted. The first half of the day was spent doing data checking/entry, which meant reading and typing nonstop (and I'm not even done with that stuff yet), then the afternoon was spent copying two of Yulia's huge cases, again (SHE'S STILL HAUNTING ME AND IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE SHE LEFT). Those cases were supposed to be in Albany yesterday, but you know what? The flake who sent the request didn't send the request to me, and neither Tas nor Joan bothered to send it to me, and Tina just asked about it yesterday. I asked Tas when it was supposed to be up there, and Tas told me yesterday. I spent the next two hours performing constant mad dashes between Jo's old desk and the copier, back and forth, over and over, and JUST made it before Gary left after getting the mail. I actually had to tell him to wait for Tas to print the e-mail so I could put it in the box.
Paul came to me and asked me to copy one of his old cases and send it to some guy in the Queens office. I told him I couldn't do it then, but I'd get it done. It'll be done Monday.
Joan was determined to drive me crazy. Then again, there's nothing really new about that. She kept talking to me about the cases I'd been acknowledging and entering, asking me about these other cases that we don't even have, but I was supposed to print out an image of a return for one case, but she didn't know which one it was, and that was all she wanted because she wasn't getting involved in the screening process this time. I told Tas, "Let's see how far that goes." And you know what? By the end of the day, Joan said we're going to screen ALL the cases. All 90 of them. Yeah, we're not getting involved. How about we let downstairs do it? Not only do they have the high-speed printer, but there are three of them down there now, or did Joan forget her grand idea that quickly?
We even had five checks totaling at least $400K to process. Tas had to do those. Then I had to race them downstairs, because by the time we got through with everything, it was later than TCD usually accepts checks. (I mean, they had to accept it because it was on the system to be sent out, but still.)
I came back upstairs, at about a quarter to four, and sat on my ass. Yes I did. I was ready to fix anyone who told me to do something with the nastiest glare I could muster. I had more than enough to do, and if Jo had been upstairs, I wouldn't have been so frazzled today. Tas made a comment about it when I was copying Yulia's cases, but I just wanted to get them done and get it out of the way.
It's not nice when the work waits until Friday to pile up on me.
Anyway. I'm starving. I'm starving and I'm too lazy to get up to get something to eat, but I'm going to anyway. I need something in my stomach.
