Yeah, the song in the "Deliver Hope" commercial for Halo Reach is commercial-exclusive, and wasn't done by Marty O'Donnell, which means my chances of getting an official version that's sound effect-free are nil. Which sucks SO hard, because it's a beautiful song. It's all piano and soft vocals, with a little bit of snare drum and minor strings. I could ask the production company (called Human) nicely, but they're probably gotten a bunch of requests already and probably won't release it, according to someone on HBO.

Nyeh, I hate it when music I like is used solely for commercials. I was able to get around it in one case (thank you, Mercedes, for having the song on your website during the promotion, so I could nab it and work it into a decent-sized song with Audacity! :D), but it's looking grim with this one. I never got that song that was used in the Scion commercial, either. I don't think there's a way to separate the music from the sound effects, and the song's short enough that editing it will only work so much. I could use the extended version's, but it cuts off at one point, and sound effects. I want a clean one.

AND, G4 is now confusing me. The Reach OST is out. Great. I previewed some on iTunes. I'm now previewing the same tracks on Sumthing Digital's website (it's using different 30-second intros, I think), because G4 posted three songs, two of which have titles that are NOT on the OST. And both of them are pretty darn cool, but one ("Unreconciled") is awesome. It's probably in the middle of one of the tracks somewhere, but it's long enough to be standalone; a bit over three minutes. Hopefully it's there, because I bought it and I'm downloading it right now. XD;

For those that have seen the commercial for the Samsung Galaxy S... am I the only one that got Halo!movie vibes from it? It's definitely not, but those dudes in the armor were totally Spartans.

I just showed it to Craig, and the first thing he saw what the Spartan-looking guy, but then he saw a definitely-not-Halo (unless it's Reach-relevant) vehicle and was like, "That's not Halo." And yeah, pretty much, it's not. But that was damn close to a Mjolnir suit.

The 14th is approaching, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised? ^^;;

I spent the day looking at Halopedia. Wahaha. Filters at work don't know it's a game site. I love it when that happens. XDDD

I need to play Halo 3 over Xbox Live with some people. The two Elites used when there are four people actually have real names and histories. They're not just characters stuck in to add players. I like that. I also like the fact that players have nicknamed them Nitro and Uzi.

I have a sweet tooth tonight, which is not good because the brownies are gone, I just finished the ice cream last night (there wasn't very much of it...), and I know if I go in the kitchen to get something, I'm going to grab the box of Nilla Wafers and it will NOT end well. Nilla Wafers are the kind of thing I don't eat often because I know I'll eat twenty of them before I realize I've eaten half that. XD;

Note to self: One thing allowed for self next paycheck: RvB Season Five. Just watched eleven of the episodes (before the loading time on the videos slowed considerably--I'm tired, don't feel like waiting), and I need this thing. I was going to get it anyway eventually, but yes, please.

Bed, tired. And need to keep away from the kitchen. Cookies tempt me.

It started off normal enough, but as we got in deeper, the whole situation just got a lot harder. I'd rush in first, pounding the opposition, then I'd switch out and my friend would finish the job. We took turns doing that for about half an hour (yes, this was a long one). About half way through, my friend got a phone call and left me alone to carry on the mission.

This was when I learned why they called Cortana "Legendary".

I found myself pinned down immediately. I tried to fire a shot off, but every time I tried I was forced to switch up my tactics and take up a new position, causing me to miss several opportunities. This went on well over fifteen minutes before I decided I'd had enough. Forcefully, I took hold of the situation and proceeded to open up a can of whoop-ass. The garbled moans and cries reached my ears as swiftly as I could make them happen. And it was good. I pressed harder, tearing up whatever got in my way, but it wasn't long before I found myself pinned down again. Trapped, exhausted, defeated.

But then, salvation! My friend's phone call had ended and he leapt into battle, delivering his unique brand of justice to that which had nearly finished me off. With the gap I had made from my previous endeavor, we increased our pace as fast as we could go, and boy, did we ever finish that fight!

So, with Cortana under my belt and a smile on my face, me and my friend left Cortana behind and never looked back.

This is the best post I've ever seen on GameFAQs. Innuendo FTW.

(I guess this is mainly for Halo fans who know Cortana is a female AI. The level is also called Cortana. Also helps if you've been THROUGH Cortana before so you understand what the guy means about being pinned... and that didn't really sound right. Oops. XD;)

So for the past few days, my coccyx has hurt. Basically, I have a pain in my ass. (Well, right above it.) After calling several people at work pains in my ass, I'm somewhat amused by this. I have no idea where it came from, and can't even really remember when it started. It hurts when I sit and I get a sharp pain when I stand up, followed by some pain while I walk. I'm going to take a bath later tonight or tomorrow morning and see if that helps, see if it's just a muscle that needs loosening or something. Really hoping it helps, because I don't want to go to the doctor and tell them what the problem is and have them poking around on my butt. ^^;; About the only good thing about it is my doctor's female.

I beat Halo 3 on Normal. ( Spoiler for the ending! ) Of course, Craig would have never seen the ending since he has this habit of skipping the credits. He skips ALL movies. I had to yell at him to keep him from skipping when we were playing co-op.

And sorta spoilery, but I'm not cutting it because it's a minor issue: Grunt Birthday Party is the best skull ever. In the last game, you got a headshot on any enemy with certain weapons and they exploded like you'd thrown a plasma grenade on them. This one, you shoot Grunts (and Grunts only, which saddens me a bit) in the head and confetti flies out (and kills enemies close to the shot Grunt), and you hear children shout "Yay!"

I will never get tired of that. I was actually starting to play this morning and restarted the game JUST to enable that skull's effect. If I don't get confetti and cheers, I'm not complete, or something. XDDD

God, I just realized I have a full-day class on PowerPoint. GAH. I bet anything it's ridiculously easy to figure out, too. Maybe I'll play hooky on Friday. I have a new game to play.

Speaking of which, I don't care if you like Halo or not: Look at this. It's an interactive tour of the huge diorama that was made (strictly for marketing purposes apparently, so no canon storyline here) depicting the last battle between humans and the Covenant. I know that's nonsense to most people on my friends list, but... well, this is cool. You use the arrow keys or drag the mouse to move through the entire thing (or just have it autoplay, but I like doing it myself). Craig was just online, and I just told him I'd love to go to wherever they have this thing set up and take pictures. I think I read somewhere that it may be touring the country. I WILL be going to see it if it does. This is not something I'm going to miss. (... I still want to see the Warthog they built. Makes me sad that I can only see it on YouTube.)

Craig wasted no time in telling me how great the game is, how enemies are kicking his butt on Normal (haha!), how Hunters aren't quite as stupid as they used to be anymore, how bloodthirsty Grunts are... Freaking Tuesday releases. I need a 360 and don't have the money for it.

Think I'm going to bed. Maybe the boss will stay away tomorrow. Maybe Denise will stop asking me what Steve and Valdi are doing with the flash drives they had me order a good two weeks ago and approve them already. Let me do my job, sheesh. If I have to be stuck here, I might as well do my job, right?

I love this song. Have to get on Napster tomorrow and find more stuff. Miss music like this, just a piano or just strings.

... Had this typed up nearly an hour ago. 9_9 This is what happens when I get on Napster anyway and remember Chopin is the one behind the Funeral March and go hunting for it. (I know it's morbid, but I still love that song.)
