There was no boss on Friday, and there's no boss today, because he's having a stress test done. So, free day for the most part, other than dealing with the e-mails regarding the ACS contracts. And possibly ordering supplies.

Left Mom a note regarding my decision to quit by early May, so I'm expecting a phone call within the next half hour or so. Should be fun. 9_9

Money tomorrow. Will probably take $200 out to send to Brooklyn College. I'll have one more payment. After that, it's just a matter of saving up money. I still have to do my taxes, too... the refund will help.

Um.

Okay. Quitting plans have moved up a week to May 14th, only because May 7th is RIGHT in the middle of a pay period and I'm not getting half a check if I can help it. An extra week won't kill me. And I'll hit the five-year mark with state service. I'm not sure if I'm entitled to longevity pay, though. I think you have to have five years in your salary grade, not just five years with the state. Oh well. I still get a 3% raise starting next month. And if I'm still here in April, I get paid three times that month, which means one of those checks will have no rent and other little things taken out, which means it's mine. And I fully intend to keep at least some of my annual leave intact, so that counts as something, too. Don't know how much, but something.

I did not get a phone call from Mom. I got an e-mail. With websites for city, state, and federal employment. And she sent me the thing for the FAA again, although she sent that yesterday. I'm still having mixed feelings about taking that test again. If they have it in NY this time, fine. I will NOT travel back to Harrisburg. (Seriously, FAA, what the hell. NYC > Harrisburg.) That was the most expensive failure I've ever encountered, and to fail by .7%? That was great. Like, "Way to go, loser! :D" -_-;;

It's really too bad I can't just take on something entirely different within the city/state/feds without a bachelor's degree. 9_9 I'm intelligent enough to pick things up, but if you haven't dumped thousands into the system, they don't want you. Or something.

Sigh. It's 2:30. I would like to go home now, please.

Okay, so after finding out that Eternal Sonata is about Frederic Chopin, I'm finding myself ridiculously curious. This is not good, because Eternal Sonata is an RPG, and those things and I don't mix. Still, eee. So tempted to at least rent it or something. I play Pokemon and that's an RPG, so maybe I could make another exception...? I should tell Craig who "the kid in the top hat" is, haha. He and I saw the commercial for the game months ago and were immediately drawn to Chopin's character. With all the music references in the game, I really think I have to check it out.

... Something black just flew across my closet. I mean, you know how your eyes play tricks on you? I was watching TV and the wall with the closet doors is to my left, and out of the corenr of my eye, something just went zipping across the doors. Doesn't really shock me since I've seen (or thought I've seen) lights in my room at night sometimes, but it's still a little weird.

What the hell kind of numbers were THOSE?! I hate it when the picks end up skipping 20-30 numbers... oh well, work tomorrow. Sigh. I can't even say I was close. Those numbers suck. XD;;
