The things I miss while I'm in the city.
Jun. 3rd, 2008 01:44 pmWe have a fawn that's been sitting in our yard for the past two days. It's really small (Dad sent Mom and I pictures, I'll edit this post with them later) and it came by itself, and Dad thinks it might be on its own. It was resting against our house yesterday, and today it's stupidly hot out, so it's sitting in the shade. It does know enough to hide itself in tall grass, at least... but Dad was mowing the lawn and it didn't get up to leave. He was wondering if it's weak. I told him not to feed it anything but water after doing some research, and that's IF he feeds it. Its mom might be around somewhere and he just hasn't seen her.
It's so cute. It's the kind of thing that makes me want to volunteer at an animal rescue shelter or something. Same with the bird we found that had fallen out of its nest... which I just learned (through the research for the fawn) we should have put back in its nest. It wouldn't have bothered the mother at all. Hopefully it won't happen again, but at least we know now. I felt bad that we couldn't really do anything for it though.
I think I'm experiencing huge amounts of animal love lately. I love them anyway, but between Bambi in our yard and people posting videos of their cats (AWWW.), I just want something of my own, I think. Mom is against getting another cat. She likes cats, but it'd end up being left in the apartment every weekend because we couldn't bring it to the house. And Dad and Craig's allergies would probably act up anyway. I know I want another pet, and something I can actually hold and play around with. Not like fish or something.
Unrelated: Played Bookworm again last night and beat the hell out of my previous high score. Played for two hours, got to level 34, hit the top rank it gives you (at which point it then gives you the same rank over and over with a number in a star--I ended with a rank of Ultimate Bookworm #2), and I think my score was somewhere around 1,800,000. My best word was "spots", which had three bonus tiles in it and ended up being worth over 5,000 points. XD I lost solely because of an accidental word. Hadn't meant to use it, let the button go accidentally, and was left with a burning U tile with absolutely nothing around it I could use.
I feel the need to spread the love. If you like word games, Google "Bookworm Deluxe".
