My poor tired dog. XD
Mar. 28th, 2009 10:48 pmOliver was tired enough before we went out, but we decided to take a ride down to Coney Island to get food from Nathan's. (Mom was in the mood for frog legs.) We ended up not getting them because the line was absolutely RIDICULOUS.
And Coney Island? It's freakingn stripped. There's hardly anything left. It saddens me. The only thing still operating is El Dorado, the bumper cars place, and that's probably because it's not owned by the family that used to own Astroland. Astroland itself is gone. All that's left is the Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel, and some other thingie. New York City seriously sucks. It's losing all its character, everything that made it New York City. I don't know what Thor is going to do with the property, but it probably won't be anything near like it was.
But anyway, Oliver: He's asleep in my doorway. The entire time we were out, he was sitting in my lap with the air blowing in his face as he had his head out the window. Poor thing's absolutely exhausted.
Found a dog he seems to really like, though. She's a small dog like him named Precious. She may be a poodle or a maltese or something of that nature... white or light-colored, curly fur. They started sniffing each other immediately (my first clue she was a girl--he does NOT like other males sniffing him), and at one point she started barking at a group of girls walking toward her, and Oliver moved in front of her like he was protecting her. It was adorable. XD I've never seen him do that before with another dog.
The boss wants me to learn more about what my coworkers do and possibly start helping them. The good: I won't just be sitting at my desk surfing the web as much and maybe, maybe, he'll actually follow through with his "possibilities of advancement" thing. He doesn't put anyone up for promotion. Joe has been working there for over ten years and no one's been promoted. Alyce is constantly on the boss about it, too. But anyway, the bad: I really don't want anything to do with what they do. 9_9; We'll see what happens. He has a habit of bringing things up and not following through with them.
