Ahaha, good one, world.

I called Dad to ask about the necklace I'm thinking of getting for Mom, and he said, "Are you in a good mood?" (I said yes.) "Do you want to be in a bad mood?" I'm thinking, oh great, more about money. Turns out crab legs are on sale. I'm not talking the usual sale lately. I'm talking $3.99 a pound. I totally got cheated. I told Dad I hope they're tiny and taste like crap (because ours were absolutely delicious, some of the best we've had), and Dad said not to wish that because he's going to try to get some. XD

And a jacket I ordered a few weeks ago from QVC, and it shipped yesterday... only UPS has recycled the tracking number, so trying to track it through anyone but QVC's going to lead me nowhere. Blah. I should get it next Friday, according to QVC. Good thing is we'll be here in the city next weekend, so I'll be home to get it.

So if I quit the job before I start school...

... I'm covered under COBRA for 18 months. Shall have to remember to tell Mom that. She asked me this morning if I'd have health insurance, and I forgot about COBRA. Not fond of that "up to 102% of the premium" cost, but for all I know, I won't even need to use it. It's just a just-in-case thing.

Also, tuition & fees for both semesters is $3,141.70. Not a lot of money at all. That makes me feel better about quitting the job and taking out loans. I haven't even gotten into financial aid yet. Loans are absolutely necessary though, if only for continuing to help Mom with the rent, because I know she can't handle it on her own. Rent in our building's gone up quite a bit. Still under market rate, but a lot to handle for her with all her other bills.

Speaking of, she asked Dad about cosigning for her, and she's going to take a lien on the house... and she said this way Dad doesn't have to worry about paying her back the $1500; she'll just take it from that. (Dad said "What $1500?". Haha. Selective memory, gotta love it.) Hopefully that works out well. I have my own financial issues to work out. ^^;
