... and John and I were in that tiny room for at least an hour trying to get all the little bits of paper out and get the stupid thing to stop sensing paper. We pull out gobs of paper, unplug the machine and plug it back in, even spray openings with compressed air to see if something is blocking a sensor.

The boss comes by and sees us. Instead of just letting us do what we're doing, he comes in and proceeds to suggest every single thing we'd already thought of LONG before he decided to show up. Because, you know, between two perfectly-functioning brains, neither of us could think of something like unplugging the machine. (There was something else he suggested and I can't remember what it was, sadly.) He was all, "So then... there's something in the way..." WOW. Genius at work here, folks! I swear, I wanted to tell him, "[boss], go back to your desk. You're not welcome here."

And earlier he kept bugging me about a UPS package from Albany that has resumes in it, even though I kept telling him the package hadn't shown up. (And he wouldn't be waiting for those resumes so impatiently if he hadn't LET DONA'S CONTRACT EXPIRE, the freaking dumbass.) And earlier than that, he asked me if Joe had called. I said no. Not ten minutes later, he asked me again, "You said Joseph didn't call?"

"No, he didn't call."

"Well--this is his ID right here." And he pointed to Joe's ID card/keys on Joe's desk. And apparently, the thought that was supposed to occur to me and therefore make me look/feel stupid (which, I'm sure, would've been followed by him saying "You have to tell me when [so-and-so] calls") was "Oh, so he's here, okay." No. He wasn't there. His ID was there; his bag was not. He had not called. Joseph being absent-minded and leaving his ID at work does not mean there was a phone call or even a real-life Joseph in the office. I just kind of said, "Well, I guess I'll be letting him in when he gets here," and the boss left that alone, I guess because he finally realized that his logic was completely off. I have a feeling he wanted to say something about me not e-mailing the office that he was going to be a little late this morning, either. No one asked. If they asked, I'd have told them. It was not worth the e-mail because he wasn't going to be that late. He ended up coming in at a [for him] normal time.

I wanted to slap him quite a few times today. He grates at my nerves. As Mom is so fond of pointing out, it doesn't take much to get on my nerves, but I was never like this before I started working, and it's only gotten worse with this job.

Anyway, away from work... psych class was fun tonight. Lots of joking and stuff. Must say, having school to go to kills pretty much all my free time, but it's a good way to unwind.
