Jun. 21st, 2010 03:03 pmOliver is on "crate-rest" (which basically means no running around aside from walks) and Rimadyl for two weeks, and if his leg doesn't get better, we'll x-ray. Of course, it turns out to possibly be a torn ligament, and if it happened a long time ago (when he was bitten by the dog before we adopted him, perhaps? He limped back then, too), then surgery may not be able to correct it. They didn't sedate him at all since we're trying this first. He wasn't happy with me between the vet visit and me forcing him to swallow his pill, but I made up for it by playing with his bone a bit and giving him some turkey bacon after Mom gave me a slice. Speaking of that turkey bacon, it was good. She got it during her trip to Philadelphia earlier this month. It was tasty without being salty. Last time we had turkey bacon I didn't like it, but this was from Amish country, so we're going to try a few more store-bought brands first, and if we can't find one we like as good as this one, we'll just get some from Philly. Going there's no big deal.
Oliver also must lose his weight. I've told Mom I'm going to feed him once a day. That way, even if she and I disagree about how high to fill his bowl (I fill it halfway, she fills it completely), he's only getting one meal. The extra weight is not helping his hind legs at all. She's been resistant, but I think she's finally getting it now.
Class tonight. I kinda hope it doesn't meet for the entire 3+ hours, but it probably will.
Right, need food.
