Classes freed up!
Aug. 21st, 2010 07:29 pmSo the history class that I keep eying (supposed to have a great teacher) has opened up again because the bursar canceled the registrations of everyone who hasn't settled their bill. A bunch of classes opened up. If I get that class, I can kill the Saturday class and actually have weekends to myself.
Problem: Tuesdays and Thursdays, I would not be at work. It would be impossible to show up. The history class doesn't end until 2pm, which means I wouldn't get to work until at least 2:45. Could I go to work on Tuesdays and work until 6pm, like I'm supposed to be? Sure. On Thursday, though, it wouldn't make sense. I have class at 5:45. I'd barely be at work, only about two hours.
So, if the class is still free on Monday, I'm going to ask the boss about it. I'd end up charging time each week. I don't know. I still have to figure it out, but I can't really think about it right now because room cleaning still needs doing. I've stopped and started, and I'm determined to finish this weekend.
In other school news, got an e-mail back from Sydnie, a student admissions counselor at Prescott College, and she gave me some encouraging news about what I'd study. On the information form, I put down that I was interested in art, but when Sydnie e-mailed me, I told her the two things I care about most are art and animals, and asked if there'd be a way to combine them since they're so far on opposite ends of the spectrum. (Usually people who are combining studies do things like Environmental Studies/Adventure Education, or Human Development/Cultural Regional Studies: in other words, things that go together easily.) Because one of my interests is artistic and the other would be closer to science, she suggested I consider a double major: art for one, and Environmental Studies or Human Development for the other. I'd do Human Development, for this. Also goes into psychology, so I think that fits more.
