Aug. 23rd, 2010 05:50 pmSo, in a fit of RAWR last week (probably over last Thursday), I finally sealed the envelope with my application to Camp Bow Wow in it and mailed it off. Saturday, I got a phone call on my cell to schedule an interview. Of course, we went nowhere over the weekend and my phone was off, so I just got the message this morning. Interview has been scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm.
I have questions to ask, one of which will be on the issue of pay. I'm not expecting much: I don't know what these things pay since I've never worked in the industry, but the pay cut will likely be massive. Like, $20K or so off my full-time pay. (Not as bad if you factor in my 80% pay, though.) I put down on the application that I'd like $10/hr. or higher, but like I'll probably tell Stephen (the owner), I'm not sure what's acceptable or possible, so he'll have to tell me what's right. He knows what I'm coming from since I put down how much I made/make at my previous and current jobs.
SO. Yes. We'll see what happens.
In other job-related news, I got a canvass letter for Secretary 2. In the Bronx. AGAIN. Mom seems to be ignoring the CBW interview bit (usually she'll ask me if I'm going to get my hair done, or if I'm going to wear a suit, or whatever else, and she's said nothing but "Ok" when I told her about the voicemail and eventually about the interview) and tried to play up the state job idea, because, gasp, I'd be making more money than I do now. Thing is, (a) I am not accepting a job in the Bronx, and (b) I am totally done with the state. I do not want another state job. I've had enough soul-sucking experiences, thank you very much.
... She did just ask me what I'd do about school if I got a job with them, though, and I told her I already included my class schedule and possible work hours with my application, so they know when I can work and when I can't. She couldn't really dispute that.
Food! Starving now.
