At Juniata!

meitantei_cjBecause I realized I haven't said anything in a while. I didn't realize just how long it's been since I posted. o_o
Anyway, just had the first day of classes today, even though it was a short day. Emma's nice (though she tried to force food on me once and I had to shut that down XD;; It was a chocolate snack thing she made with her Inbound group. Crushed Oreos and whipped cream or something like that. They were good, but I didn't want one at that point and she seems to have a problem understanding that. I think it might be a cultural difference), I've met some cool people, and even though I still feel a bit out of place because my shyness keeps me from talking, everyone's welcomed me even after learning how old I am. They all seem to get that I'm just a quiet person. I'm hoping I'll eventually open up more. Not too open, though. There's a graffiti party on Saturday at East; come wearing a white t-shirt and armed with a highlighter, and people basically write on one another's shirts. I know I'd be the lame-ass that left early. Not sure I'm going to go. I'm not a partier.
Classes: I just joined (unofficially so far; need to get that paperwork in) a class called Modernity, Knowledge, and the Self. Not quite sure what I'm getting myself into, but it seems like it'll be an interesting class in an eye-opening sort of way, like it'll make me think more about my surroundings. It also seems like a LOT of work (it's a 4-credit class). Still, the professors are cool. And I just bought the books, even though they didn't cost much, so I've kind of committed myself to it now. I have plenty of time to withdraw if I need to, although I'll try not to do that.
Computer Science professor's cool. Kind of dorky, but in a good way. Likes to crack lame jokes. XD What Is Religion? professor's cool. I haven't gotten to meet the math prof yet, but that'll be tomorrow morning at ten. He should be fine. Also got to meet the chair of the art department, Karen, to get credit for the art history classes (yay!). I need to see her again to give her the syllabi for the studio art classes, and I think I'll give her a link to my ePortfolio so she can see what I did in each class, and assess my skill level and whether or not I should repeat studio classes. If they think I should, I will. I might actually repeat Beginning Painting, only because they use water-soluble oils here and stretch their own canvases, and I've done neither.
The refrigerator we picked up at Walmart? Holy CRAP, that thing's cold. Honestly, need a small fridge/freezer? Get a GE... Spacesaver? Something like that. It's black and has both a fridge and freezer door. Get it. It keeps things SO cold. I've had to turn down the thermostat in it because it froze all the bottles of water.
There's like no decoration in my room, haha. I have a picture of me and Charlie, the picture of Mom, Craig, Oliver, and me that we took sometime around last summer/fall, my mini Juniata pennant, and the autographed poster print I bought from TRiPPY.
Also, I hate teriyaki pork stir fry for dinner today. It was good. Took a picture and sent it to the fam, and Dad was impressed. I actually manned up and ate the vegetable, whatever it was... it was like peas in a pod or something like that. I'd be happy if they did that once a week, but I'm sure they won't. XD;;
