Okay, I'm quite a bit confused about China, at least what I'm hearing about it. These two Chinese AIDS activists are being stalked by people who were possibly hired by Chinese officials because they are AIDS activists.

Okay. SARS came about, and they didn't want people to make a big deal out of it. It was a pretty significant problem that took a lot of lives. Now they've got this AIDS epidemic over there, and all they're worried about is looking bad?

Then again, I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised, what with the limit on children per household and all the little girls being abandoned because of the male preference. And what's this about illegal blood trade?

Don't mean to seem insensitive or anything, but that just makes no sense. Governments are stupid.

And while I'm being bitchy, LJ-CUT!

CJ. This is the Chinese Communist government. What I could tell you would make you sick.

China is going through massive upheaveals right now, for better or for worse, and than last thing it wants is to look bad. As with the SARS epidemic, don't be surprised to hear them try and well, bull*@! through the whole thing.

As for the one-child per household, it's to curb excessive population growth (it's still fast, but not skyrocketing like it used to be) and the gender preference is biting them in the ass, it's now estimated males in China outnumber females by 50 million. I sure hope they legalized sodomy over there.


Ok, I'll stop before I go off on a tangent here, but look at the history of Communist China since 1949, it is some pretty... bizarre stuff, to say the least.
