Volunteering
Oct. 3rd, 2008 03:08 pmSO. Tomorrow I go to Ollie's Place to see about volunteering to help take care of the cats.
This may possibly result in finding out that Sunshine, a 10-month-old there (if that age is indeed up to date), really is as sweet and affectionate as they say she is. I fell in love with her picture. I was never really one for orange tabbies, but she's really cute. I showed her picture to Maureen yesterday and she gushed. XD
I've already been told several times we're not getting another cat, including once yesterday when I told Mom I might drop by the shelter to look, and Mom texted back "NO CATS!!!". Of course, she then called me and said I could go, and see how I do, but she doesn't want to deal with fur and litter boxes and pet food. I think it's been too long since Smokey, and she's long since fallen out of that whole thing. She doesn't have to bother with it (well, maybe the hair, considering she's the neat freak between us), but there's also the problem of what to do over the weekends... although now I'm kind of getting used to going to PA every other weekend. So really it'd just be two full days a month that the cat would be alone, and I guess we could have Wally come over and feed her... but I don't know. Was better when Marcia was around... though I can't remember if she liked cats.
I will bring up my interest in Sunshine, though, and they'll probably let me see her. It's not like I can take her home tomorrow. There are checks that shelter goes through before they let you take a pet home. And I couldn't start the process yet anyway. I slept in my own bed last night (FINALLY!!!), but my room's still kinda messy and I'm not letting anyone outside of Mom and Nick into my room. XD;
... and yay, I get to spend the last hour of a great day doing Dona's crap. I really need to start saying no. -_-;
