Had a good review! ^_^ Was waiting for hours, but the two people from SVA seemed to really go through everyone's artwork. Maybe it's because I didn't have a lot of work I'd thought up on my own (aside from the designs I created in Intro to Design), but the SAIC representative seemed to push me out. He almost immediately told me, "Nice stuff, but you need to have a meaning behind your art." Of course, the problem with that, for me, is that I don't draw with meaning behind something. I draw with story behind it, if I'm doing that.

Quinn, the woman who looked at my work today (and I showed her everything I had with me, because the presenter said to not edit ourselves), looked at absolutely everything, gave critiques, and really seemed to like what I did. She said I should work on figure (and I'll probably be taking Life Drawing in the fall) and keep illustrating, and work on my own narratives. (I didn't show her anything because my writing is crap, but I showed her some of my characters and mentioned a little bit of story for one drawing.)

The only thing is, I might not be able to study part-time, depending on a number of factors. Some classes are only held at certain times. I told Quinn I'm going through that now, and mentioned the whole thing with having to drop down to 80% just to be able to take Illustration. Upperclassmen sometimes attend part-time, but it might be difficult. She said she both worked and attended school full-time, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it. Still, I have time to see what I'm going to do. I wish I didn't have to make the choice, but that would require a lottery win.

But yeah, I'm happy. SVA actually looks pretty cool. ^__^ They gave us a 2010-2011 course catalog. It's HUGE. I'm going to look at it some tonight.

Also, my two illustrations I did for class? They're awesome. Seriously. I accidentally unified the story illustration's two halves. I put a big jar on one side, just because it was in the preliminary sketch I did weeks ago, and Prof. Mayer asked me about it, and told me that it was good that I had that curve (and the curve of a shrub behind it) because it balanced the curve of the princess's dress on the other side of the pic. I was like, "Oh snap. That's awesome." XD; Maybe subconsciously I knew that when I first drew it in the sketchbook?
