Dec. 17th, 2010 10:24 pmThe book I need for CEP121? I already own it. XD It's a book I bought a while ago, but haven't worked on yet because of everything else going on. Now I have to use it, which is good since that's what I bought it for, and I don't have to spend money on a book!
Still don't know about HUA290. There are 10 out of 20 seats filled; I hope that's enough to keep the class going. If it gets canceled, I'll have to ask Prof. Brooks about it. He's the head of the Art Department, so maybe he'd be able to do something. The only other intermediate art class is Intermediate Drawing, though, and that's a problem, because it runs into the beginning of CEP121. Not to mention the two buildings the classes take place in are about five minutes apart when the sidewalks aren't crowded, and if we end the art class right on time, time needs to be allowed for cleanup. (Well, depending on what we'd be doing. I'm not exactly sure.) But, we'll see.
Got my first A, in Life Drawing. Obsessively checking Blackboard for my final grade in Western Civ. I'm sure I did fine, but I'm not going to be at rest until I know exactly what I got.
Also, finally got an answer on how to clear the F1 stop on my record once and for all. It's been keeping me from sending out transcripts; I needed to do an exit interview for the loan. Spent yesterday after work tying up loose ends; giving the extra credit paper and term paper to Terry and Arianne, picking up my portfolio, and giving my tuition voucher to the Bursar/getting my new balance ($900--between the voucher and the scholarship, it paid a bit more than half my tuition). I tried to get the exit interview done, but the guy in C-109 said to come back at 6:30 because he had stuff to do, then when I went back at 6:30, said they close at 6:30. I wanted to strangle him for making me wait 45 minutes. The whole idea was to get that done and bring the form to C-107 so they could remove the stop, and my transcripts could go out. I even asked the guy if everything would be done before 107 closed, and he said, "Yeah, they close at 7:00!" Needless to say, I left the C building mentally cursing him out. Did the thing online, so I have to bring the form to 107 on Monday. It works out anyway, since I'm going to bring my materials to Prof. Mayer so she can write letters of recommendation for me.
Applied to schools. Finally sent in the Common Application for... five schools, and just mailed off the app for Alfred University today. Still need to do SCAD. Applied to Queens too, just as a CUNY safety school, and because as a transfer student from another CUNY, it costs me nothing to apply to senior CUNY colleges. Haven't applied to a SUNY; not even sure which I'd apply to. New Paltz is supposed to be good, but they don't have housing available for transfer students, which kinda sucks.
Anyway, schools applied to: Mount Holyoke College, Smith College (both in MA), Allegheny College, Juniata College (both in PA), Ohio Wesleyan University (... OH), Alfred University (NY). There are others that I might possibly apply to, but I'm still looking. Those are the main ones. I've visited three of those.
Think I mentioned I got a rejection from Marywood. If not, yeah. I e-mailed them to ask about it though, if decisions are final. All they've gotten from me is my application and my high school and Brooklyn College transcripts, and those transcripts are shit. It's been a month, month and a half, maybe two, and I don't blame them for it, because the problem's gone on far longer than it should have. I haven't been able to send my LaGCC transcript because of the F1 business, so they have no proof that I'm doing so well now; they just have what I did, 10-14 years ago. In hindsight, I shouldn't have applied as early as I did, but I was still coming off the college visit high, I guess. Hopefully they get back to me and will allow me to send it in, because I really did like that school, and I'd hate to be rejected for a red tape issue.
It's the WEEKEND! Yay.
