Developments!
Jul. 22nd, 2011 05:12 pm- Holy crap, Sherlock and the muzzle! He hates the thing. He's constantly trying to get it off when we're walking. Mom was pretty firm with him when she walked him a little while ago, so I'll try to emulate what she did, and hopefully he'll stop hopping all over the place. Also, another accident in the hallway. He's gotta stop that. Training is going slowly, though that's to be expected. He IS listening better. I need to find a good treat for him, for when we're outside.
- Susan from Ohio Wesleyan University e-mailed me today. She said my application (which I've thought about on and off for the past few months, but kept getting distracted) fell through the cracks, and was actually completed a few months ago. They'd been waiting for a recommendation letter from Prof. Mayer. She said they'd still like to review my application for admission, as I have many qualities they're looking for in a student. It KILLED me to have to tell her I couldn't accept. I voiced my concerns about Juniata (location, small art department) and mentioned that if I'm not happy with them once I actually start taking classes there, I'll likely look to transfer and will reapply at OWU for spring. Part of the reason I applied to OWU in the first place was their art department; it's supposed to be very nice. And while both OWU and Juniata were in Colleges that Change Lives, OWU's art department was specifically mentioned, while Juniata's profile mainly talked about the sciences. OWU's located in an actual town, with transportation and stores within walking distance and all that.
This actually makes me kinda sad, because while I really like Juniata, I do have those concerns and things might have gone differently had OWU gotten to me before. I might have gotten a chance to visit them. Bleh. We'll see if Susan answers me back today. No idea what she'll say. I said I was curious as to whether or not OWU would've accepted me, so maybe she'll have the admissions crew look at my application anyway...?
Meh.
