They'd BETTER get subcategories, at least. And put that rule in the freaking FAQ somewhere. Because if I woke up one morning and half my pics were gone, I'd kill.

Even if they did get subcatagories, if they pulled this "wrong catagory" shit on us, they'll probably make us move all of our anime stuff into the "correct" subcatagories.

Because everyone who doesn't like anime would shit themselves if they got lumped together with THAT. -_- That's where all this comes from, I think. There are a LOT of people on dA, admins and members, that don't like anime.

I admit, I've had little experience with Deviantart, but what experience I've had leads me to firmly believe that it's run by a bunch of power-mad cockmongers. The admins are all biased against certain forms of art, and while everyone's entitled to their opinion, they're letting it affect the way they run their little art dictatorship.

It's *art*, people! It doesn't always fit into your neat little black-and-white categories. This guy's insistence that "if it's *obviously* anime, then it goes in anime, period," is completely flawed and pointless. How, exactly, does one objectively determine whether or not something is anime style? The answer is, one *doesn't*.

Cockmongers. All of 'em.

The admin who put up that forum post (that SHOULD have been a hot topic or something, or I'd never have known about it if Jen didn't post about it) is an anime artist, so I'm not mad at her for that... it's the fact that they never said anything. I thought the Anime category was for fanart. They never said an anime-styled female doesn't go into Females.

So if I start drawing my eyes smaller, I can post to Females and whatever, right? 9_9

If I'd known that the Anime section wasn't just for fanart, I'd have been sticking my stuff in Anime. After all, they have a Game section. That's fanart. And it's usually drawn anime-style, so where do they draw the line?

Meh. I'll put up with them... at the moment there isn't a better alternative.

A lot of us were on Side 7 first and IIRC you weren't meant to put your stuff as 'anime' if it wasn't fanart.

Don't slag off Sai too much about this, she's not doing this to be a git. It's frustrating, yes, but more becuase it wasn't sorted out earlier. The indy art's catogorisation system is stupid (For instance, where the hell do I put spiffyville? I HAVE to put it in misc, becuase there is no cartoon section.)

If most of the catagories are based on subject, Anime should not be one of them. There should be seperate things for style and subject but it seems they didn't think of that.

And there is an awful lot of anime art on there. People who don't like it do get sick of it as it tends to be the most comment thing. It's not just the Admins being evil and Sai is generally on the side of the Anime people.
