That moment when...
Sep. 27th, 2012 10:03 pm- Your Writing Across Media professor tries to teach Photoshop to a bunch of newbies and thinks you can make the image in a layer look nicer by duplicating the layer. Not duplicating it and messing with the adjustments. Just duplicating it. -_-;
- You realize you forgot to go to the vineyard to help press the white grapes your class picked on the field trip... four hours later.
- You find out that Amazon may have sent you a television. Unsolicited. o_o
That last one. We were on our way home from the field trip (more on that later), and I got a text from Dad that was like, "Did you order a TV? There's a huge one here with your name on it." Uh, no...? I told him the only thing that should've been going to the house was a laptop bag I bought during the last woot-off. I asked if it was from Woot, but he didn't answer me back, so I just left it alone. No one in our family ordered it, it wasn't on anyone's wishlist, and Woot had JUST sold the TV like a week or so ago.
So. Yeah. LG 42" LCD TV. I have no idea. Mom's happy though, because she can really use a new one for the living room in Brooklyn. XD; I spoke to her today, and she said Craig mentioned something about liking Woot's Facebook page and maybe getting free loot out of it. I know nothing of this, I just liked them on Facebook quite a while ago because I like Woot. I can't find anything about it. It'd be so funny if we were randomly chosen or something out of all the people that bought stuff during the woot-off. That's the first one I've bought from in a while, too, haha. I'm thinking it was Woot, but I can't find the TV on their previous items page, so maybe it actually WAS Amazon. I've been ordering music from them lately and have gotten a few non-music items as well (stuff for my hair, the two Hyrule Historia copies, a camera), after not ordering much of anything for a long time. Dad called and said the invoice said it was a gift. *shrug*
Anyway, the Finger Lakes field trip!
We left Monday at one; class was canceled that day so we could get there a little earlier. It's about a four-hour trip. We were mostly around Keuka Lake, although we went over to Seneca Lake for the last leg of the trip. I came out of it with six bottles: three fruit wines (Strawberry White Zinfandel, a cranberry, and a pomegranate--I like sweet!), two whites (a Seyval Blanc and a wine called Celebrate from Keuka Spring Vineyards), and a red (Clara's Red, from the same vineyard). One girl had thirteen. Also, I think I missed a really good one at the second winery because I stopped tasting at one point. I could feel myself getting a little tipsy and did not taste another strawberry-flavored wine called Thistle Brush. Nearly everyone in the class walked out with a bottle. One guy had two. Apparently my taste in wines is the same as Mom's--she likes sweet wines as well. She sounded excited when I said I got the pomengranate one. XD I'm not drinking them yet. I don't even have a corkscrew here to get the corks off (I'm fairly certain they're ALL corked). I'm going to keep them sealed and bring them back with me when I head home next month, if Mom and/or Dad pick me up. If not, it'll probably have to wait until November. I don't know how comfortable I'll feel bringing them on the train, or if they'll even be safe during the trip, but I know they'll be fine if we're in the car.
The Finger Lakes region is freaking beautiful. The lakes are huge! I don't know why I hear the word lake and think it's going to be smaller... There are a lot of hills and most of the places we visited had gorgeous views of their lake. I'm lazy now, but I'm gonna post pictures from the trip. It was a great trip, and I'd love to go back up there sometime. We picked a bunch of grapes and pressed them today, but I forgot all about it. I'm glad it didn't affect the grade! I completely intended to go, but my mind was just not in it today and I wasn't thinking about much of anything. That's what happens when you're off campus for almost three days. ^^;
