Yeah, Heather's definitely not going on the trip. She spent six hours in the ER at the local hospital and got told pretty damn bluntly by a doctor that she had a blood clot in her lung and she could die. (Where the HELL was his bedside manner?!) I wasn't there, but Heather told me all this when I got back from AWoL this evening. Her heart rate--resting--fluctuated between 120 and 160 all day, her blood pressure was stupidly low at the beginning, and she got jabbed a few times because her veins are tiny (twice to get blood for bloodwork, once--through the same hole--for an IV). Marilyn freaked out upon hearing about the clot because her brother died the same way (albeit after a traffic accident, but still, a clot in his lungs like Heather was told she has), and Heather's sure she's going to be crying tonight out of worry for her. A came in at one point to see if Heather had come into the room, and was about to leave without telling me how she was. I had to ask her, and then she explained. I know Heather was going to explain it to me eventually, but hello, I'm her roommate, (and I've known her longer, since Inbound)? I know that doesn't rest on the same level of girlfriend, but it'd be nice if you'd let me know she's not DYING. Jesus. That girl and her level of consideration...

So anyway, it is medically unsafe for her to go to Baltimore, because for some reason, she doesn't get the signals from her body that something is wrong. She didn't feel short of breath when her heart rate was elevated. She doesn't know when she should tell people there's a problem. They also took her off her migraine medication, thinking that's the cause of the clot, so even though it'll take four days for the medication to fully leave her system, the amount of it will be declining, so three or four hours bouncing around in a bus will not be good for her. Plus, if something happens while she's in Baltimore, the school's responsible. She thinks her professor's going to take issue with it (not with her personally, I don't think--he kind of can't), but honestly, I'd rather my ill student keep her ass home in case she needs to end up at the ER again rather than be on a trip four hours away and, you know, possibly drop dead. Heather can do an extra project or something. She's going to the dean tomorrow to tell them, and if she feels weird again at all, she has to go back to the ER, or at least to Health & Wellness, I can't remember which. I think ER.

SO. I'd hate to have her life. I told her as much. She has it bad. And she desperately needs a freaking neurologist that isn't going to dick her around. Fortunately, the people at JC Blair are going to call around and see if they can't help her get an appointment soon. Honestly, if her neurologist is seeing people that aren't all that serious, s/he needs to bump THEM and see her already. I'm worried about her and there's really nothing I can do. She said that everything that happened didn't really hit her until she was showering when she got back, and she just broke down. They need to find out what's wrong with her.

Okay, so, I don't know who started the "abbreviate EVERYTHING" trend, but it aggravates my nerves. I understand doing it in texts. When it carries over to actual speech, though, argh. It's the one thing that throws the generation gap between me and Heather in my face. Between her, A, and Marilyn (who's awesome, by the way--why can't Heather be dating HER? XD;), I hear, on a daily basis: totes for totally, probs for probably, BT dubs for by the way... and there was another one. I can't remember now. But it's like UGH. STOP IT. Use your words. -_- I feel old for complaining about it, but still.

Group project progress has moved forward a bit. We have a story now. Jack is being annoying because he's a little too obsessed with our ability to get the Kogi civilization exactly right, but we're writing fiction and we're allowed to take liberties. Anyway, five of us are writing backstory for a character and I forget what the sixth person is doing. I'm writing backstory on the main boy character, which means I have to find out exactly what goes on in training in the caves, and then try and flesh him out a bit. And I have to make up a name. Yeah. Going to work on it tomorrow, because I'm tired and don't feel like I'll be able to concentrate on it. I feel like I'll be out as soon as my head hits the pillow. This whole project would be so much easier if we didn't have to write about this group of people. Then again, I guess that's why it's our final project.

Broke my headphones yesterday and ordered a new pair today. Dad said he'll glue the plastic that broke back together, and if he can do that, I'll just have two pairs, that's all. I taped the HELL out of them. I keep having to add tape (I used masking tape) because the way I taped it, the pad doesn't sit on my head properly unless the tape's really stiff, and it doesn't stay that way, so I have to adjust it.

Heather may not be going on her field trip after all due to some scary health issues she's having. She's gotten close to fainting three times in three days. Today she didn't go anywhere all day except to Muddy for some food around 6pm, and I'm not even sure she actually ate much. She slept all day. Her field trip is to Baltimore, and she's worried about what will happen if she still has issues down there. She's going to talk to one of her professors (who may also be her advisor), Health and Wellness, and probably the dean, too, to see what they say. They know about the problem, and her marine bio professor can't force her to take the trip if there are medical problems.

Completely unrelated: Just watched a rather long clip (a little more than half the episode) of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?. MY CHILDHOOD. I miss that show so much. And Rockapella. <3

Walked in on a (thankfully covered) naked roommate and naked roommate's girlfriend because roommate neglected to TEXT me to let me know they were gonna get together. Holy shit. I may be in the studio and not get to my phone immediately, but I do check it eventually when my hands are clean and I leave the studio, so how about a courtesy message?!

Will not have a roommate next year. If I'm forced to, they better be single.

Me: Math sucks, Heather. :\
Heather: I know :( This mac and cheese doesn't.
Me: Haha, you and your cheese.
Heather: Haha, I love mac and cheese! :)
Me: I hate it, so there XD
Heather: ... what...? You hate mac and cheese...? Who are you? XD
Me: A heathen? :D
Heather: XD I can't even be mad after that response.

EDIT:
Me: Psssh, okay, no more writing tonight. I'm over where I should be by a few hundred words, anyway... I'm getting tired.
Heather: That's good, no? I'm kinda tired.
Me: It's good if I actually go to sleep XD
Heather: XD Maybe.
Me: I know how I am. I won't be asleep for another hour at least.
Heather: I know how I am, I'll fall asleep on you shortly XD
Me: XD Too true!
Me: Bwahaha, at the retreat, if you fall asleep on me, I should go all Jigglypuff on you and draw on your face XDDDD
Heather: OMG! One, I will fall asleep on you! And two, that's mean! XD

---------------

THE GAME IS ON. I'm totally bringing a marker with me. And I'm flashing it at her when we leave for the AWoL retreat. XD

EDIT ONE MORE TIME:
Me: Okay, maybe I lied about not sleeping XD 12:30 I think.
Heather: XD
Me: I feel like a wimp, lol.
Heather: Lol that message just scared the shit out of me. i was tootallu driftigm.
Me: XDDDD Good night Heather :D
